Zamak Agency of Design Professionals
Florian FOIZON presents the zamAK studio

To expand their knowledge and go further in thinking, our students meet with professionals in the field. This is true throughout the year in the context of compulsory and optional education. We have already mentioned the SVT conference or the arrival of Mr Abdelkader DJEMA, here are three new examples.

Design and photography professionals

As part of the optional "Management and Management" education, Mr RIOLON and Mr ROBIN invited Mr Florian FOIZON associate director of the zamAK agency. At first, he introduced the second-graders to the creative studio: his team and the roles of each. He was then able to develop on the themes of creation, management and business management.

Then the students were able to ask their questions, prepared in advance. for example: "Do you have failed projects or ideas?", "How did you finance your project and find your first clients?", "On what criteria do you recruit?", "How are relationships with your associates?", "How do you project yourself ten years from now?" …

Immersion in business at the Abbey Mill

In November our second-graders, "Management and Management" go to the Abbey Mill in La Couronne.

The Abbey Mill

The site of the Abbey Mill is a former wasteland Industrial. Previously, the site was the site of a large stationery renowned across Europe. Unfortunately, the factory was showing 20th century performance rather mediocre. The company was then bought out by Spaniards, and the production site moved to Roullet. The site is then abandoned.

In 2014, Dominique and Sonia POUPEAU have the idea to transform this site into a corporate campus. The project then seems crazy. 18 months later, after a complete clean-up of the site, numerous restoration and clearing work, the demolition of 3000 m2 of out-of-use warehouses… The Abbey Mill Campus welcomes its first occupants.

Our visit

Once on arrival at the site, around 10:30 a.m., the owners of the premises welcome us and accompany us in a large conference room to introduce us to the venue. They insist on the fact that in 2014 it was just a ruin, where trafficking was mixed in all genres and urban games. To renovate the whole, the budget was 4 million euros.

Today, the venue is home to 24 companies. Initially focused on new technologies, the site now welcomes companies of all kinds, which we will visit.

For starters, our group is heading to Cortex Productions. Then we are all amazed. Could we imagine that in these premises, in Charente, we could find a company so pioneering in one area. We had a fantastic, interactive, multi-sensory experience that was difficult to describe. But really, I was blown away by what I had just seen.

We continue by heading to the premises of the company headed by Dominique POUPEAU, which produces tactile communications terminals, as can sometimes be found at the entrance of a restaurant. Again, I am still amazed that this type of product is produced here. This is how I realize that everything we see on a daily basis does not necessarily come from huge factories or multinationals producing in Asia. Our department is rich in these companies. Finally, we end the visit with a meeting with a former mathematics teacher, converted into a jeweler. As for the quality of his work, I found the story about his conversion and the creation of his company particularly interesting.
