Christmas Event 2019

December was full of activities and various events. Here's a quick look.

1. 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall

The German students of the College and the High School created a fresco on display in St Paul's Hall. Created on the initiative of Mrs PEROL and Mrs BOUDRINGHIN as part of an inter-class project, it aims to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

2. Mid-December: the eloquence contest

On Saturday, December 14, a dozen of our high school students are preparing for the oral eloquence contest on the theme: "Progress and altruism". Some high school students from Barbezieux, enrolled late, join us. Rotary has three juries: "Club Rotary Angoulême," "Rotary Waters Claires Club" and "Rotary Val de Charente Club."

In the Grand Lounge of City Hall, a welcome buffet welcomes students, their families and all those who have come to cheer them on. It is then the draw for the order of passage and the opening word of the contest.

Then our young speakers return to the rooms assigned to them in order to prepare themselves before their passage. Indeed, it is only after they have passed that they can mingle with the listeners. Jury members take notes. At the end of the presentation, they ask questions to clarify this or that point, to verify the argument of the words.

When all the candidates have passed, we find ourselves in the big room waiting for the end of the deliberations of each jury. It is then the proclamation of the results. Angoulême Rotary Club:

3. Celebrating Christmas in St. Paul

On Thursday, December 19, 2019 we were able to celebrate Christmas in several stages. Event, sweater contest and celebration at the chapel.

At the end of the morning, all the students and teachers present gather on the courtyard for the traditional "Christmas event". Every year a novelty; for 2019 each class decorated two T-shirts on the theme "Day and night reflect the light". On the day "D" they were presented to all. Between each level, our students accompanied by language teachers sang Christmas carols. All this took place in joy despite a small rain that did not last. It is impatient and hungry that everyone was then able to enjoy the Christmas meal.

"Lessive" of December

By the end of the afternoon, more than 150 of us are participating in the Christmas celebration presided over by Father Justin. A beautiful moment of sharing and prayer led by students and teachers.

4. Trades Forum: an asset for orientation

This Friday, December 20, 2019, nearly 70 institutions are participating in the "Forum of Trades and Training" in Saint-Paul. All specialties are represented: engineering schools, pre-school classes, aeronautics, industry, IT, social, medical, environment, business, marketing, art and graphic sandwriting, multimedia, architecture, communication – journalism, defense Security, etc.

This year, the Forum has notably moved into our new CDRs which allowed our alumni to admire the work done. Some are even a little envious of their comrades… Thanks to all the institutions present, our high school students were able to see more clearly in their choices of post-bac courses. Thank you to everyone for making the trip.

5. Friday, December 20: Baccalaureate graduation

That same Friday at the end of the day, the third edition of the graduation ceremony allows us to welcome our alumni and their families. Many of them are responding to the call despite the strikes.

Lots of people for the December graduation.

After Mr. CONSTANTIN's greeting, the ceremony is in full swing. Each bachelor comes to receive the famous hat of "graduation" and then greets his former teachers and our head of school. It is then the photo that immortalizes this moment before going to look for the precious diploma. This is then, as last year, the final photo where our students let out their joy by throwing away their headgear. At the end of the evening a cocktail dinner is offered before splitting up.
