Starting a new school year is essential to building trust throughout the year. This is even more true for the classes that mark the entrance to the College and The High School. For the past three years, Saint-Paul has been offering students a suitable welcome and a mini-integration stay for a smooth start to the new year.

Better hospitality quality

When we arrived, our sixth graders discovered a school that was much larger than their primary school. Often impressed, some fear they won't be able to find their way.

On the day of the school year, the school is entirely dedicated to them: morning in class with their Teacher In charge of Class to get to know each other and provide all the useful information. The afternoon is reserved for an orientation race throughout the property. A snack allows you to finish the first day very pleasantly and to meet the families.

The next day, the second graders receive a privileged welcome. A way to mark the passage to the High School. As for sixth graders: personalized reception and then class-by-class call before joining the halls in the company of the various Teachers in Charge of Class.

Time for cohesion and building a common identity

At the end of September comes the time for integration stays. Over a week two stays allow three classes to alternate by the sea for two days (plus half a day for sixth graders). These educational days are an integral part of school activities.

For the 6th destination Les Sables d'Olonne. As for the second-graders, the internship takes place in Boyardville (Oleron Island). The objectives are precise: practice of sports activities (surfing for middle schoolstudents, sails for high school students) but also educational with the extension of the SVT program for second students. In both cases, this time spent together, outside the school, with a shared vigil, allows students and teachers to get to know each other in a different way. On the other hand, it forges a common identity unique to St. Paul and promotes cohesion within the classes. For many, these stays are also their first experience of living in a community.

Educational activities and discovery of the environment

The program of the sixth is predominantly sporty. In college, two surf ings, orienteering and Olympiads: enough to make people happy. Then, the students discover the environment and practice theatrical improvisation.

On the Second side, sport is also on the agenda with the discovery of sailing. Other activities are possible on the center: tennis, football, etc. But, the most important part, is left to science (SVT): discovery of the anatomy of the oyster, study of the ecosystem of dune, salt marsh, ancient biodiversity on the foreshore of the tip of Chassiron.
