A décor of the room

On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May 2022 two performances are given at the Théâtre de La Couronne. It is an original creation: "A Midsummer Night's Dream" after William Shakespeare. The theatre workshop and the choir of Saint-Paul worked together throughout the year to mount this "artistic creation".

18 actors and 34 choristers went on stage in front of a large and attentive audience. At the helm: Mr. David POUGNAUD, professional actor and director, Mrs. Véronique GABRIEL his assistant, French teacher and Mr. CLEYRAT, music teacher and choir director. Two former students are the creators of the décor: Dragan ZIELINSKI and Meï CHAMPEÏ. The music is that of Jason LYTLE via his rock band "GRANDADDY" and CASCADEUR (Alexandre LONGO, French artist).

"A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a fantasy comedy set four days before the summer solstice. We find in particular: two young aristocrats in love: Lysander and Hermia, Oberon and Titania, king and queen of the fairies, other lovers, fairies and amateur actors who choose this same wood to rehearse their play. Suffice to say that all the interactions between the characters will create beautiful confusions.

Among the themes of this piece: love and the follies it can engender, nature, time, dreams, among others. At the end of the play, the spectators are delighted: "Great show!! Congratulations to Véronique Gabriel and David Pougnaud, Patrice Cleyrat and of course the students !! ".. Pari succeeds. See you next year!

And for those who missed that, catch-up session thanks to David's son and You tube:
