Folio Prize: our students in Paris

Meetings throughout the year

Throughout this school year, we participated in the Folio des Lycéens prize, a reading activity led by Mrs. KLINNIK, Mr. DELAVAUD and Mrs. KRYNICKI. This activity allowed us to discover six literary works around which we regularly gathered to present, exchange and share our impressions.

On April 23 we learned that we were selected by random draw among 600 students from France for participate in the presentation of the Folio Prize in the prestigious Maison Gallimard located in the7th arrondissement of Paris.

Finally in Paris…

So we found each other Thursday, May 19 at angoulême station towards Paris which was waiting for us with open arms under a sun bright!

So you don't miss any sound effervescence it is on foot that we are at the Musée d'Orsay where we we discovered Gaudi, Spanish architect and main representative of the Catalan modernism during a temporal exhibition as well as many Impressionist painters such as Cézanne, Monet and Renoir.

After a traditional picnic in the Tuileries Garden, we headed to the Maison d'Edition Gallimard in which we were welcomed with 150 other high school students to discover the novel winner of this Folio 2021-2022 prize: The last time I saw Adèle by Astrid ÉLIARD. This topical novel describes a mother's quest to find her sixteen-year-old daughter who has become a jihadist and her incomprehension in the face of this radicalization. After attending the award ceremony, we had the chance to exchange with the author around a refreshing buffet.

Visit of the Gallimard gallery

Finally, we went to the Gallimard gallery to see a beautiful exhibition dedicated to "manuscripts" found" by Louis-Ferdinand Céline on the occasion of the publication of Guerre.

Not to omit anything, let's add the short visit to the Iron Lady, the Shepherdess of the herd of bridges that bleated at the end of that afternoon.

It was a wonderful day full of discoveries and encounters that we had the chance to share with our Folio Prize group, surrounded by our teachers who accompanied us in this activity throughout this year.
