Ils sont assembl\u00e9s d&rsquo;une ou plusieurs couches d&rsquo;aluminium ou film plastique.<\/p>\n<p>On am\u00e9liore l&rsquo;isolation thermique d&rsquo;un mat\u00e9riau en augmentant son \u00e9paisseur. Pour une efficacit\u00e9 optimale, toutes les parois doivent \u00eatre isol\u00e9es. Pour une habitation, on isole les murs ext\u00e9rieurs, le plancher sur vide sanitaire et le plafond sous les combles.<\/p>\n<p>La performance thermique d&rsquo;un mat\u00e9riel isolant s&rsquo;appelle la r\u00e9sistance thermique R. Plus R est grand et plus le mat\u00e9riau est isolant.
